First off, I dont know if they are 2 or 4 ohm yet. Im picking them up for $140 tomorrow. I want a decent priced amp to run both of them. I use to have an Alpine 450w amp running 2 12w3's and it sounded pretty good. This setup will have the 2 subs facing eachother about 1.5ft apart.
I have been out of the sub amp scene for a while, but a decent cheaper amp choice use to be the audiobahn a8002t for your power needs, but I think the newer version is the a8002"v". Probably worth checking out. I am assuming you have dual 4 ohm voice coils and will hook up each one to one channel at 2 ohms total or bridge the channels at 4.

OP if my previous statement is correct then what you are looking for is an amp (preferably monoblock) that is atleast 2 ohm stable (not 2 ohm STEREO stable, if you go 2 channel amp and not monoblock) with a max output of 2000 watts at 2 ohm, I personally feel Autotek is an excellent bang for the buck (pun intended) you could do the Autotek M2500.1D it is compact yet powerfull (would put 1250 watts peak at 2 ohm) and since it's 1 ohm stable you pretty much can't overheat it at 2 ohm (believe me I've tried) and it leaves you open to getting dual voice coil subs and going to 1 ohm for peak output down the road (which is what I will have done as soon as I build my new box and it can be found for around 150 dollars which is hard to beat if you ask me.

I ended up getting a JL Jx500 Class D amp from my installer and then found out that my stock amp was not working. I guess the stock 8's were not working the entire time I owned the car

Yea I think I paid his price of $300 plus materials for the box and install. I didnt get charged labor so it came out to be about $400. I got the 2 subs for $140 together so I dont think it was too bad.
