alternator size?
I have been running this chrome 1 wire ebay alternator for a long time (worked great) but recently swapped to a LS4 drivetrain. I swapped the v goove pulley to a serp pulley but the pulley was a little different size and messed up the alternator after a couple hundred miles.
Until the pulley messed up it was working fine on the LS4 putting out plenty of power. I have had that alternator forever so I dont remember what size it is. I got a "100amp" 1 wire alternator off ebay and installed it and it doesnt seem like its putting out enough....
How many amps do I need for a alternator to work good? I have 4 electric fans, 2 stereo amps, electric fuel pump, a/c, electric windows, alarm, normal lights, ect...
Thanks~
If your amps are that large, consider a 140-160amp. A good battery is usually the best option though.
