Ok so let me ask you guy's another ? when I use the multimeter i want to put it to ohms correct?
An which do I select lol there's 200 2k 20k 200k 2m?
also do i want the key turned to the on position while checking?
I'll admit I'm an IDIOT when it comes to electrical stuff lol!!!

You want to use the ohms setting at 20K because the largest value of resistor you could have is 11,800 ohms. It is not necessary to have the ignition on for testing. In fact, you will get more accurate results if you remove the pellet from the circuit and measure it outside the car.
The possible values for the pellet resistance (in ohms) are:
402
523
681
887
1,130
1,470
1,870
2,370
3,010
3,740
4,750
6,040
7,500
9,530
11,800
You must be within 10% of one of those values or the BCM will refuse to start.

An I'm hoping this will be the final ? lol?
Should I go with 1/2 watt or 1/4 watt resistors?
An which brand should I go with radioshack or NTE?
AN ALSO JUST WANT TO GIVE A BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP/PATIENTS GUY'S I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!

Ok so I just did a reading with two different multimeter's one is a radio shack an one is a craftsman here's the reading I'm getting using both at 20k.
Radioshack = 3.72
Craftsman = 3.73
An by looking at the shbox's chart I should be pellet code 1 but I'm also below the lowest which is.
nominal = 402
low = 386
high= 438
I'm thinking I'm in get a resistor some where around 400 correct?
I can put a 330 an 68 ohm resistor's together to get 398 ohm's is that close enough?

Gotcha so then a 3.3k ohm an a 470 ohm together would get me at 3.770
An being that my reading is 3.73 that really puts me in the pellet code 10 correct?
so then.
Nominal = 3740
low = 3590
high = 3910
so them the 3770 should be just fine correct?
