peskie security light on dash
I understand about the wires breaking in the steering colunm.
I also understand bypassing the sys.
What I want to know can I just continue to wait the usuale three minutes (for the light to go out then start it with the same key), or will I have to eventally have to bypass or replace the igntion swicth.
Thanks to all for the expertise

Best thing to do is try your spare key to see if that solves the problem. You can also try cleaning the contacts of the resistor pellet with rubbing alcohol. You may need a new key or a new ignition switch cylinder. The alternative is to use one of those bypass kits that aftermarket alarm systems use.
If you’re ever driving and the SECURITY light comes on
and stays on, you will be able to restart your engine if you
turn it off. Your PASS-Key II system, however, is not
working properly and must be serviced by your dealer.
Your vehicle is not protected by the PASS-Key II system.
Handy things, these owner's manuals...
I think I know how to bypass the sys.( instead of cutting the key wires can't I just unplug the junction and add the required resistance closest to the VAT box?)
Lastly can I just continue to wait the three minutes an still expect it to start, or will it eventally leave me stranded.
thanks
