02 SS CD Deck Wont Fit?

2002 Camaro SS Convertible

In the back of the space for the deck there is a plastic piece that sticks up looks like it supported the factory deck. This piece is blocking my aftermarket deck from sliding all the way in. Has anyone had this issue? Does it need to be cut off?

Everyone has that issue. You can either bend it down out of the way or just cut it off.
