alternator question
If you have a performance problem related to the electrical system, you should see a voltage drop, which should be evident on your gauges. If you have done some modification to your car that would make your alternator undersized, (you are probably sized just fine) you'd see a drop also.
Bad alternators can cause your voltage to drop but so can a number of other things on the car. Short circuits, corroded wires/cables, etc.
Its either good or its bad. The alternator produces more If alternator can charge the battery to a point that it can crank the carproduces plenty of power to

I'm not sure what normal is, but connecting a fuel pressure fluctuation to overall voltage of the car is a stretch. You'd have to monitor pressure at the pump to confirm. There are lots of other regulating elements and constrictions (fuel filter, etc.) that could also be problematic.
