Camaro Double Din Hey guys, bout to install a double din i my 99, i see alot of people are getting custom bezels, is that because the stock cd player smaller or bigger than an aftermarket. And will i need new brackets to mount it or will a certain size fit in the stock mounts?
The stock stereo head unit is smaller its 1.5......a double din is 2. Some times the custom bezel comes with brackets which arent perfect theyll give you some generic ones made from sheet metal and you drill the holes to match your dash. I dont know about a camaro but in the T/A you had to cut the tray that the stock stereo sits on and than the new one will rest on your A/C controls or some ppl have cut upward at the top of the opening...i got rid of the tray.
