Default Steering wheel linked to aftermarket setup?

Is there a bypass or some wiring that will allow me to work an aftermarket stereo with the steering wheel buttons.

Axxess ASWC-1 or PAC SWI-X interfaces will fix that right up.

Just so people know, and I don't know if this is in general or for my specific setup, but if you choose to get an adapter for your steering wheel controls, you can no longer use the wireless remote that came with your head unit.

I think it's your setup. Mine still works.

No idea why that would be. I had a JVC Arsenal deck in my 2000 Camaro base and I used the Axxess ASWC. Worked great, and remote still worked.

It wouldn't recognize my head unit. Contacted customer support and all they did was basically re-read the installations instructions, like I didn't do that...

After turning it on, my remote wouldn't work. Unplugged the Axxess and remote worked just fine

I used to have the PAC unit... worked great. I could use my remote as well... don't know what was going on there with the above poster. honestly, those remotes suck anyway... android control app is better.
