Turn signal problems Hi, I have a 2000 camaro. I am having turn signal problems. I have had the car for about 6 months and the turn signals have never worked. I look under the steering column and saw that there was no relay. I put a new one in as well as a new fuse. When I start the car the it takes a wile to turn over and it makes cranking sound as if I needed a new battery. After the car starts the fuse is burnt and the flashers still don't work. If I unplug the relay the car starts fine. Please comment!!
The flasher is inline for the turn signal circuit, so taking it out cuts the power, just as pulling the fuse would.
It sounds like you have a short and its probably going to take a bit of work to trace the circuit and find the problem. If you have a wiring diagram and a little experience with this kid of thing, a great place to start would be the electrical connector at the base of the steering column.
