Default Big 3 upgrade question

I was in the process of putting in 3 10inch diamond audio TX102 series(black) in my 2002 trans am . Now I know which amps both are hifonics zeus one for the regualr speakers and one for the subs, im going to get and I know im gonna need a higher output alternator probably a 220a also a big 3 upgrade. Which is where the question occurs they say they can put a inline fuse for the big 3 kit from 150A all the way to 300A....should I get it and if so which one should I do....or should I not bother with it at all?

Def do the big 3 in some 0 gauge, you might not even need the upgraded alt (I would def recommend it tho)

As for the fuse it really depends on what size wire your using. Your main fuse is to protect your wire, you should fuse each amp individually with their recommended size 50 amp 80 amp whatever each is rated at.

A second battery is not such a bad idea either

If you scroll to the bottom of the page youll see what im talking about its for the alternator to protect it from voltage runaway not for the amp . The amp wiring is something totally different and that will be a 100A fuse.

the stock wire contains what is known as a Fusible Link so when you upgrade your "supposed" to add a fuse to that cable, with the idea being to protect the battery (and potentially the rest of the cars electronics) from a voltage spike if the regulator in the High Output alt goes bad and spikes. I don't have one in my car but it is suggested to do it.

I would fuse it based on the rating of the wire your using, which needs to be big enough to handle the max rated amperage of your alternator. if you do good COPPER 1/0 wire (not Copper clad aluminum) then go ahead with the 300 amp fuse just because the wire will handle that much.

Ofc and cca wire is a big deal. Cca is much cheaper but oxygen fee cable isnwhat you want

check out knukonceptz.com they have ofc 0 gauge in LOTS of color starting at $4 a ft. Cca stuff is half that price too
