Installing a double din head unit

Besides the bezel is there any cutting to get the head unit to fit. I haven't removed any of the factory pieces yet. I just want to know what to expect before I start.

depends on the exact dimensions of the headunit and whether your a camaro or firebird, but plan for atleast a little trimming.

Take a look at Whitebird's Monsoon sticky. There's a link in there with a step-by-step how-to on the double DIN install. (and lots of other good info, too)

or you can order one pre made like i did. im still waiting for mine to arrive it takes about 8 weeks to get it. also they need the make and model radio your using

If it takes 8 weeks to make something, I wouldn't call it pre-made.

I have an order in with Dennis at DD Mods and saw this comment, so I sent him an e-mail this morning in the event he needed to know which HU I am running. I thought they would be standard, and his reply confirmed this:

All American branded double din radios are same size....so no worries.

Just an FYI, so nobody thinks that spending the cash on a modified bezel means it'll only work with one particular radio.

oh wow DD mods dash kit looks really clean…sent them an email I may be ordering from them as well…i have a brand new alpine double den ive never been able to use…lol
