Default taking apart a radio

I bought a radio that is in bad condtion on the outside but im told it works fine, the one in my car is in good shape on the outside but the display is messed up sometimes and the cd player doesnt work. Is it possible to easily take the cd unit out of one and put it in another and have it still work? what about the display?

It depends on what kind of radio you are talking about. It may be possible to just swap the face and not deal with any internals. If you have to deal with internals, its very likely that you could do harm to the unit.
