Exclamation Antenna Swap? Help

Hi,

I have a 2000 WS6 TA and i am wanting to go with a shorty/stubby antenna change. Stock one went out and don't really like the motorized one, especially for the price and look. I have made many phone calls and everyone is saying i will need a adapter. After looking at some. I really don't understand what the adaptor could be for.

Is it suppose to make the end different? it ends with the male side. Am i suppose to get a female end to female end? As in on the cable? Or does the adapter change how it mounts up on the actual car?

I moved to the correct area: Stereo.

I have done this. All you need is the regular Firebird bracket (not Camaro as it doesn't work). The P/N is: 10425535

Then any shorty antenna will simply screw into that.

Just do it for free. Turn the car on and raise the stock antenna all the way up. Reach inside and unplug the factory wiring for the motor and then push the antenna down to the height you want it to be at.

I did this over a year ago and it hasn't changed and looks just fine. No need for a new antenna unless your stock one is broken.

Btw, I just wanted to say I installed the bracket but never got around to putting a new antenna on. eBay looks like the only viable option at around $10 for an 8" shorty. Anybody have any places that carry something feasible?
