Coolant Temp gauge dead

Ok so ever since i bought my 2000 z28 my temp gauge hasn't worked.

I bought a temp sensor replaced it and didn't help
returned it..
bought a new pigtail harness and replaced it and still no gauge movement..

is there anywhere else i should check? all the other gauges work normal...

Does it not show any temp or does it always stay in the middle? Its not a real gauge. It pretty much stays in the middle unless something goes wrong, then it moves. It's more like an idiot light than a gauge.
