ls1 Engine Harness cleanup question

Hey guys, i started taking apart my engine harness last night to clean it up,

through out the wires there are these bulky connection points like in the picture below, im wondering if anyone knows what these are? im hoping its not a special fuse or resistor.

Some of my guesses are resistor, or just heat shrink from a multi wire solder point, since it looks like 5 wire go in one end and 2 out the other.

i figured i would ask before i take one apart to see. anybody know?

Multi-wire solder point, mainly used for grounds, 12v and switched power and sometimes 5v reference I believe.
