Looking for Double Din/Nav install guide: As the title says, I recently purchased the AVIC 8100NEX and I have spent the last hour searching for decent guides to install it. I remember a long time ago I found a post of a member that posted a guide that even showed the best place to put the GPS antenna up under the dash but I can't find it. Anyone have any good guides for installing a Double Din Nav system in a 99 TA? The best one I've came across is this one: https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...installed.html

Page 2 of my thread (linked in your post above) does show where I mounted my GPS antenna. That pic isn't my car and shows a Sirius antenna, but that is where I mounted my GPS antenna. My XM antenna is mounted inside the hatch itself. I can post a pic of that as well if you'd like (its in a different thread).
Although I didn't post a complete write-up, its not that bad to trim the opening and mount a Double-Din.
DoubleDMods & 6LE sell a Double-Din Bezel so you don't have to make one.

Some people, cut/remove the plastic tray under the radio instead of (or in addition to) trimming the top of the dash opening. You may have to do that for the radio to fit at the right height for those aftermarket bezels.
