I figured it wouldn't take a whole lot to it when I slapped some stock sized replacement speakers there, I've since modified the rear door on my trailblazer to hold 8's, but I went with a mid-range 8 not a subwoofer 8, I got the Rockford Fosgate PPS4-8.

provided the weather is nice plan is to run the speaker wires for the 4-channel amp and finally give them more power then what the HU pumps out.

If that's a MDF baffle I'd coat it with something, those things absorb moisture like no other.

just a ring, it's been in there a almost 2 months now and we've had a good bit of rain in that time and it's fine, I actually have the door panels off right now so I could wire in my 4-channel and no signs of moisture on either one, that was a concern for me as i've seen what happens to wet mdf. I may still do something one day but not concerned for now.
