Default Gauge Cluster Issue

I have a 2002 Z/28, and I just swapped to a 2000-2001 TA Gauge cluster. Everything works fine except now the AIR BAG lights stays on. I have no idea why, it wasn't before. Unless the previous owner disabled it?

Does anyone have any idea why it would stay on?

Thanks

One quick way to find out is take the lens off the Camaro cluster. Then pull up gauge face and plastic its stuck to. The needles with the air cores will pull up with it as a unit. Then you can see if the bulb is there, crushed or blocked on the airbag.

Why disassemble the gauge cluster if the Air Bag light is on? That doesn't sound right.

I recommended he check the light in the old cluster because hes trying to see if the prior owner had it disabled and his airbag light should have been on all along before he put the TA cluster in. The cluster is already out, its literally a 2 minute job or less to take the lense off and pull up the plexiglass the gauge face is mounted to.

Yes thank you. I will take a look tomorrow. I didn't catch this in time tonight to look. After thinking about it, I have a suspicion that the light has somehow been disabled on my old cluster.

Either way, your air bags may not work in a crash. Is this a concern for you, or are the purposefully removed?
