Does this even exist??? I would love to have a customizable LCD screen in place of my standard cluster. Something where I could choose which gauges are displayed. Has anyone ever heard of/seen anything like this?
Sure. Just search "OBD carputer" and you'll see people doing what you are after. We have numerous carputer threads on this site but I don't recall if any at interfaced to the OBDII port to pull in the car's performance data.
As a "store bought" plug and play nothing exist it is all CUSTOM made, the most common solution is to use an android based tablet running an app like Torque that uses an OBDII bluetooth reader to get the info, this is missing the odometer and any warning lights/high beam indicator and anything outside of the normal gauges, but does add many other gauges to choose from. but you will have to fabricate something to hold it. because of these reasons most people place the tablet in place of the radio and use the tablet for an audio source to feed into the radio, there is one guy on here that has been working on replacing pieces of the cluster which includes replacing the crappy digital odometer with an oled display that includes additional functions which can be read about in this thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...ed-screen.html
