Power window issue-not the normal bad motor A few weeks ago my passenger motor stopped working, I've had to replace every motor in every camaro I've ever owned so I didn't think anything of it.
Ordered a new motor, swapped it out. Before installing it, I tested it to make sure, the motor working if the switch was pressed in the up position, didn't work in the down. So i moved to the driver side, motor worked if I pressed down, didn't work if I pressed up.
Could this be bad switches? Or could I have a short somewhere else? The switches are relatively cheap so I ordered both sides, figured it was a good place to start along with replacing the main window fuse/relay.
Has anyone else ever ran into this issue? Thanks.

Have you bench tested the new motor? It sounds like it might only be working in one direction (results are reversed on opposite side of car). Apply 12V and ground to the motor on the bench with no switches involved then reverse polarity and try again. See if it might turn only clockwise or only counterclockwise. It is always possible to have received a "new" but defective motor - especially since most are remanufactured.

Thought the same, but the motor functions both directions correctly. Pretty sure there's a short in one of the switches. I ordered both sides, and go from there.
