I have a 2000 Trans Am I know that my front turn signal socket is shot, I can not be bothered to solder another one in AGAIN, so i was woundering since the reason the turn single stops working is because we have a thermal flasher, can i just switch that flasher out for an electronic one so my rear turn signal still works? Since thats about the only one i care about anyways. Pretty sure that whole harness is shot because my headlight motor no longer goes up and down either and i just replaced that the other day.

Are you sure you don't have the common issue with a cracked lens causing water to blow your bulbs out?

You shouldn't have had to do this in the first place. The sockets come apart so you can replace the broken components without wiring, soldering, or any grief. Check the stickies.

There is a common problem with corrosion in the motor harness. When you unplugged it for the motor replacement the contacts probably re-connected on corroded areas, which is causing the break in the circuit. The fix is to clean the contacts. (This is not... easy.)
To answer you, the actual pings in the harness that goes too my motor is shot, sorry for really long wait on reply, been pretty busy with stress and work. Someone i know is giving me both harness for passanger/driver for all of 20$ so im going to make sure its good before i put it in, use that and fix my old one the correct way while its off the car and just have two because this is such a stupid problem. Thank you anyways! now i just gotta take half the engine bay apart to take off the harness...yay...
