12-Disk Changer door light not on when opened

12-Disk Changer door light not on when opened My 12-disk changer door light is not coming on when the door is opened.
I do have 12vdc power across the orange and black pins.
I can't eject the cartridge and it won't play the disks.
(I did open the cover and found the white plastic release lever for the cartridge to come out manually)
I do have power to the changer as a red light is on (with the cover removed).
Can someone tell me where the changer gets it's power from?
Is it from the head unit or the AMP?
The head unit CD player and radio works fine.
