Headlight issue (non-gm)
Headlight issue (non-gm) Someone please enlighten me. Got a 2004 BMW 325i. Passengers side low beam doesn't work. Swapped bulb, swapped sockets. Everything works on drivers side but the same stuff plugged into passengers side will not illuminate. These aren't HIDs or anything special. Checked with meter and get battery voltage at the socket with bulb removed on either side. Checked ground continuity on both sides, looks good. What am I forgetting from automotive electral class?
thats what i'm thinking. Power and ground, identical on both sides. yet only one side light. Even when using the same bulb and socket. I must be missing something.
If you're sure you have voltage I would try running a dedicated jumper ground to test it and if that doesn't work you try a + jumper wire. Has to be one of the two at fault and even though both test good there obviously is a problem somewhere.
