Default Radio Bezel Switches

I'm looking for a switch that will fit in the radio bezel holes. I want it to look like the ASR switch to keep a factory look. It needs to be a double pole, double throw switch. preferably momentary on-off-on but doesn't have to be momentary.

I'd also like an activation switch for giggle gas.

Any chance an aftermarket company has made something plug and play??

If not, is there a writeup on fitting aftermarket switches into the factory location?

Thanks!!

Why not just use an OEM switch? The convertible top switch is momentary ON-OFF-ON.

That's an awesome idea! Never even thought of that. Will it fit up by the ASR switch? is it the same design. iirc the top switch goes down by the ashtry from the factory

Yes, I believe the switch is the same size and design as the ASR and fog light switches so it should fit but you might want to check for yourself (a friend with a 'vert or perhaps at a junk yard). Of course the labeling (the word "Top") will be sideways so you might want to relabel. You can also use a fog light switch (on/off toggle) or ASR switch (push button momentary) for additional switching needs. There are a total of four switch positions in the bezel if you remove the Camaro logo.

I guess i didn't realize the asr switch is pushbutton momentary. So it would be good to use for say a line lock or nitrous purge?

Yes. Pins E and F are connected by a normally open momentary switch. Pins A and B are for the indicator LED (B is positive and A is ground) which you probably wouldn't use.

Something else you might find useful... you can buy an electronic control module that will allow you to do a host of configuration things such as make a single pole momentary switch function as a push on-push off switch. That would allow you to use an ASR switch as an on/off toggle for some accessory. You can also do things like one press triggers a device and two presses triggers a different device. The module is the PAC TR-7 available on Amazon for under $20. I always keep one on hand because it is very useful for converting factory switches to other purposes.

I use the stock switches for my line-lock. 2nd switch on the left arms the line-lock and the switch that I have my finger on actives it. you can see the little LED in the vent that shows the line-lock is activated.

I always try to use a relay when possible. Sorry don't have a wiring diagram as I did it on the fly. Its not hard, run power to your arming switch, then a power out wire to your activation switch, power out of that switch to the relay and then power out to your solenoid and LED. I also hooked up the internal lights in the switches to the parking lights so the switches can be seen at night. If you want I guess I could draw up a simple diagram.

Nope, that's simple enough. Now I just need to get some ordered!

Bump, can anyone CONFIRM if the convertible top switch fits a 97+ radio bezel?
