2010-2012 HID headlights If any you guys have ever had issues with the HID in these years you'll know the light quality is terrible. Instead of increasing the ballast watt there is a LED 2 stage bulb out there that work and hell of a lot brighter than the HID unit new. It is from LASTFIT high/low 72W 6K for 130 dollars. Compared to bulb and ballast change very cheap since both ballast and bulbs are only rated for 2000 hrs. Very surprised at the light quality in my 12 with the factory HID housing.
The bulbs are called D1S/D1R/D3s/D3R/D1/D3, LED D1/D3 replace HID D1/D3. Just so if you decide to try something different instead of the fixture melting 55 watt ballast change. IF the OEM 35 watt will melt the headlight a 55watt will toast it.
