Help needed with mirror switch The power mirror switch on my '99 Trans Am works up/down but is a dud on left/right. I pulled it apart to clean up the contacts but I can't get the circuit board out of the housing. It's free on 3 sides but the 4th side feels like it's clipped in even though there's nothing visible. What's the trick to getting the circuit board out of this stupid thing?

GM considers the mirror switch is a non-repairable unit so there are no directions in the service manual for taking it apart. However, the first question would be are both mirrors affected? If one side mirror works but the other doesn't then it would indicate that the left/right motor in the non-functioning mirror is the problem rather than the switch. You might also try spraying some electronic contact cleaner into the switch even if you can't get full access to the board. That stuff can do wonders for cleaning up switch contacts.

It's definitely the switch. I rebuilt the seat switches and figured the mirror switch would be the same, but the circuit board just won't budge. The soldered section that I can access looks good so I'm almost positive it's worn contacts under the buttons.
