Mirror Ambient Temp Sensor

Mirror Ambient Temp Sensor My rear view mirror temp says “OC”, I’ve searched and searched but cannot find information as to where the sensor itself is located. I’m going to replace it and See if that fixes it’s, IF I can ever find it! Can anyone help me out?

98-02 F-bodies were not available with temperature mirrors from the factory. Aftermarket mirrors were available with temperature, compass, garage door opener, and even rear view camera capability so a previous owner must have installed one of those. You'll have to trace the wires to find where they mounted the sensor although it's usually in front of the radiator so as not to read the extra heat in the engine compartment. You'll also have to contact Mito Corp for a replacement.

Here is a link to a photo of the Gentex mirror temperature sensor. Gentex is the mirror manufacturer and Mito is the retail distributor (Gentex also makes mirrors for OEMs).
