Help please

Hi new to this just got a 98 z28 and the guy who had it before broke the gear on the temp needle altering his overlay and the needle doesn’t work at all now I bought a 98 cluster do I just do a swap or do I need to record the places the needles are at... thanks in advance

just swap it.. should self adjust when you plug it in

To clarify, if you swap the entire cluster there will be no adjustment necessary. But if you plan to swap parts so that you can retain the overlay, you will need to mark the needle positions.
