Default front speakers not working

99 Camaro non Monsoon system. installed Pioneer SPH 10BT. It mainly works through their Smart Sync app. So the day i installed it i made a call to my son to check hands free and it worked fine. Not sure if i made any calls after that before i noticed front speakers weren't working but after i noticed they weren't working, my hands free was no longer working. found out i could be heard by the other party but i couldn't hear them. did some googling and learned the hands free worked through the front speakers. I adjusted the fade/balance and still nothing also double checked all wiring and they were fine. I I erased my phone from HU, reset the HU to factory, forgot the devices on my iphone, and deleted/ reinstalled app and still nothing from front speakers. Any ideas what issue can be?

The first step in diagnosing the problem would be to determine if the problem is with the head unit or the speakers/wiring. Try reconnecting the head unit so that the front and rear speaker connections are reversed. If you then get sound from the rear speakers you will know that the problem is in the front speakers or their wiring. If you still don't get sound then the problem is with the unit itself.

If this was a Monsoon system (or a former Monsoon system) then I would have guessed the head unit was damaged by feeding into 2-ohm door speakers (that unit is not 2-ohm stable) but the base 4-speaker system didn't use 2-ohm speakers.

gonna give a try. I know the front speakers worked leading up to install and right after. Thought maybe they’ve blown but there would at least be some static or whatever. There just isn’t anything from both

Swapped the wires and same result. Even plugged in old stocker and same result. Now I’m curious if I in fact used it after new install lol. Gonna swap speakers next and if they work then I’ll buy replacement. If not, then what?

By same result I assume you mean that you got sound from the rear speakers but not the front even after swapping the front and rear connections? In that case, you can assume that the head unit is okay and that the problem is with the front speakers or their wiring. I would suspect the wiring since it's very unlikely that both front speakers would die at the same time. Swapping speakers will confirm that - if you still get no sound then you know it's the wiring rather than the speakers. In that case, use a multimeter to test that you have continuity on the speaker wires between the head unit connector and the speaker connections. If not, start tracing the wires looking for the break. If the wires are okay then you need to check that the connector itself isn't loose or broken.

swapped passenger rear to front and got sound so I reckon both front are out. I hope. Planned on replacing them so once I get the new pair in I’m hoping it’s the same result on the driver side
