Ok! So I'm planning a new carpet install and figured this is a great time to run some modern wiring for a back-up camera, amps, speakers etc... Back seat is staying out and I have the blessing of a flatbed laser cutter and industrial sewing machines at work. I'm thinking of a new custom center console, custom sealed subs where the back seat (bottom seat) was, and then who knows what else. I'd like to keep the factory speaker locations, doors, sail, and rears and tie it altogether. Back in the 80's this crap was pretty simple and straight forward. Today? I'm struggling to find solutions on how to keep all the speakers and add subs without installing 3+ amps. The stock system with a 10" cubby sub installed is cranked and with tops off on the highway, i struggle to hear it...(full exhaust too so I'll add some sound tile stuff when carpet goes in)
Also usable speaker wattage seems to be quite a bit lower? Than it was... and everyone advertising Peek POWER! instead of usable RMS.... so... I can't be the first guy to gut everything and the search isn't turning up much of anything on here. I'd love some ideas, guidance... etc I'm a retired musician so I'm pretty fussy with audio and used to a 40+ band graphic =) I'll settle for 13 in a car... but you get my drift I hope...
I am very impressed with my set up. Not heavy but very clean and good bit of volume for its weight.
