96 Trans am Electrical issues

96 Trans am Electrical issues I recently aquired 2 cars, 1 is wrecked, and the other came with alot of parts in boxes. I'm also a newbie to 4th gen's.
I'm attempting to make 1 whole car out of the 2, but have run in to a few issues.
I recently painted the engine bay on the 96, and afterwards I cleaned up the grounds and put all the wiring back in place. Around the same time I swapped in the 97 digital cluster from the wrecked car. Now the cluster will light up and the warning lights come on, also the led display lights up red but is blank, and the guages won't move or return to the right position. I also noticed my fuel pump isnt coming on anymore.
I went back over my grounds, and even swapped between the 96 and 97 ecu's but got the same results. Any help would be appreciated. I've read the other post regarding the 97 cluster swap, but no-one seemed to have the same issue.

are you sure you have a 97 cluster? it could be a 98 and that is why it will night light up. I have a 97 cluster and a 99 cluster and anything after 97 will not light up completely.
