Diode Dynamics SS3 pods for headlights
Hows it going everybody. Well I'm still waiting on the machine shop to finish my engine so I decided to try to buff and polish my factory fog lights to see if that would make them almost as bright as oil lamps. What I found was most of the dirt and grime was on the inside of the lens so I tried to remove them with a hair dryer and a putty knife. I got one lens separated from the housing in one piece, but the other one pretty much self destructed. Instead of trying to refurbish them with flex seal and plexi glass lol!, I decided to replace them with a set of Diode Dynamics pro SS3 pods with the SAE driving lens. They should be here by Friday. After I install those, what I was thinking about doing next was replacing the headlights with their SS3 pods as well. Since they have SAE versions of the pods, I was thinking about replacing the high beams with the SAE pro driving pods, and the low beams with a set of the SAE sport versions of the pods which have less power than the pro version. I haven't purchased the other 2 sets yet, but I was wondering if anyone else has tried this yet and if so how is it working out for you? I wouldn't even consider replacing the headlights with any of the non branded lights that have flooded the interweb in recent years for the sake of questionable reliability and the non focused beam direction blinding other drivers. The SS3's seem to have a very focused beam that wouldn't blind other drivers so I think this might be doable, I know once I mod the housings for the pods there's no turning back at that point, so if anyone has any suggestions or warnings please let me know. Thanks in advance.
