99 Firebird Electrical Question I acquired a 1999 firebird in somewhat questionable shape. From the looks of it the guy before me didn't want to address the electrical issues and that's how I ended up with it.. The main issue I am having now is electrical and wanted to ask here before I start to dig into it myself. The car has some sort of vampire electrical issue killing the battery. First issue that I noticed. The second main issue is I got the charger hooked to the car and the battery charged and most electrical components seem to work, however when go to crank the vehicle upon release of the key after the motor turns over then the hatch pops open as if I opened the hatch. It does it every time I let off the key from the start position. The column itself is really loose as in the tilt mechanism so I will be fighting that tomorrow and will be checking the internal column wiring for any defects. Has anyone here heard of this issue or know right where I can start looking before I start tracing circuts? The previous owner had a BCM along with a fusebox cutoff sitting in a box in the car and Im guessing he tried the BCM and gave up when that didnt fix the issue.
