Default rewiring transmission performance switch

Would like to know if anyone knows how to rewire the trans performance switch in my 1994 formula so it will operate my line lock and still have the indicator light come on? I have no factory wiring or computer. Just want to utilize since its there and not install another switch. Any info and help would be appreciated

I was not aware of the transmission performance switch until you mentioned it. I couldn't find any mention of it in my factory service manual either so I spent a few minutes on Google and found this article: https://www.ls1lt1.com/threads/1995-...m-switch.7166/

Look at post #4 there and you'll be treated to a complete description of how the switch is wired with pin labels and wire functions.

So after looking at the switch pinouts and schematics will this switch work for what I want it to do? Can I repurpose it as a line lock switch with indicator light working? Sorry i'm asking because im confused with switch. Don't think it's possible, but i wanted to ask someone that knows more than me.

A line lock normally comes with a momentary push button switch. You can use any momentary switch you like as a replacement but the indicator light seems redundant since you'll know when it's on - you'll be holding the button down.

It's my understanding that the schematic you posted doesn't apply to your '94 since it would not have come with traction control, so you would have just the single performance switch. If you want the switch to illuminate with the dash lights then you'll need to use a relay since the illumination and the main switch contacts all ground through the same pin (pin F). You need to make the following connections:

A = ground
B = dash lighting power (usually a gray wire)
F = ground
G = pin 87 of relay
K = pin 85 of relay

Relay 30 = 12V ignition switched power
Relay 85 = pin K of switch
Relay 86 = 12V ignition switched power
Relay 87 = output to line lock as well as pin G of switch

The idea is that the relay coil that controls its operation will have power (pin 86) when the ignition is on (you don't need a line lock without the ignition on). When you press your switch, the relay coil circuit gets a ground from pin 85 through pin K of the switch causing the relay to trip and pass power from pin 30 to pin 87. That powers your line lock and also provides power to the switch indicator light, turning it on. The switch illumination is independent - it gets power when the dash lights are on and grounds through pin F with everything else.

I guess your right about what switch I should use. Just thought since that wasn't being used no more I could repurpose it. Thanks for your time and info.
I don't have traction control, but the pics I took were out of a 94 manual.

I'm not saying you can't use that switch - it will work like any momentary switch would. I'm only saying that the indicator light seems unnecessary since you have to hold the momentary switch anyway while using the line lock. But if you wire it as I listed above, even the indicator light will work. The relay will only cost a couple of extra dollars.
