Convert fog lights to headlights?

Convert fog lights to headlights?
Is there any kind of conversion or anything that would allow one to install an LED headlight bulb into the (stock) fog light housing? I'm asking with regards to power draw, heat, socket compatibility, etc. Can it be done (easily/cheaply), and has anyone done it?

There are drop-in 880 LED bulbs (some even have the leds in the correct orientation). Also there are threads (and a sponsor with kits) to swap out the housing to new LED housings.
Either way, they will not perform as well as actual headlights.
Regarding drop-in LED bulbs for headlights or foglights, always look for ones where the LEDs are aligned/shaped like the original filament. The LED should form a thin line in the same place and orientation as the original filament from the halogen bulb.
There are plenty of threads on this. Many with examples and more info.

Regardless of what bulbs or even replacement housings you might install, using your fog lights as headlights is not legal because they don't meet the minimum height requirement. Headlights must be mounted at least 24 inches and not more than 54 inches above the ground.
Using some of the better replacement housings is a good way to go for improved lighting because they project the proper flat beam that is designed to cut under inclement weather like fog, rain and snow. The factory housings are just decorative toys which throw light everywhere with no controlled beam shape so brighter bulbs, even if they simulate the original halogen filament positioning but especially if they don't, will just serve to blind other drivers without providing any significant improvement in your visibility.
