Axxess ASWC-1 Diagnostic question: mute button changes function

Axxess ASWC-1 Diagnostic question: mute button changes function I installed the ASWC-1 into my 2012 Outback. As far as I know, it is wired correctly as all 6 SWC controls work (vol+/-, seek +/, Mode, Mute)
However, after I drive for a while, the Mute button switches function and acts like the Mode button? All the other buttons continue to function correctly.
When I turn the car off and drive again later, the next day--everything works. But then after 20 minutes---same thing. Mute button changes function and acts like the Mode button?
1. Could this be a grounding issue? I did replace two ground straps from the engine to the chassis (one was broken all together and one was about to go) as there were electrical issues prior to this with the HU switching functions and all together acting fishy. After the new ground straps were installed, those went away. Now, where I grounded the wires from the ASWC-1 still had 6.2 ohms of resistance--I believe it should 5 or under. Would this be enough to throw things off? But why just for one button?
2. Could it be the SWC button?
All I know is that the same pattern happens every time.
