Having some light problems
This is my first post after just joining the group, so hopefully this is in the right spot. Thanks for any help.
Let's start with the front running lamps / DRLs / turn signals. These are dual filament bulbs with a dim filament for running lights when the headlights are on and a bright filament which does double duty for the daytime running lights and the turn signals. The first question is have you replaced the bulbs. Those particular lamps are infamous for getting water inside; and cold water touching a hot bulb will invariably cause it to burn out or even shatter. It can be very difficult sometimes to tell if a bulb is burned out (sometimes it's obvious) so it's often easiest to just spend a few dollars and get new ones. If you don't want to do that right away, you can swap the bulb that partly works to the other side of the car. If the problem switches sides with the bulb than you can be sure the bulb is the problem.
The interesting clue about the fog lights is that the indicator light in the switch doesn't work. Unlike Camaros, the Firebird fog light switch is wired so that the indicator light is powered by the output of the fog light relay just like the lamps themselves. Assuming that you have already replaced the TAIL LPS fuse (never rely on the look of a fuse, it can be burned out but look fine - always test with a fuse tester or just replace with a known good fuse), it would seem that your fog light relay is the problem. Try swapping the fog light relay with the horn relay right next to it and see if the lights start working.
The front headlights ground through a bolt on each side of the top of the radiator mount. However, you mention only the high beams not working so it seems unlikely that it's a ground problem when the low beams still work. When you say the high beam doesn't work do you mean just the separate high beam lamp (the inner lamp) or both lamps on each side? Firebirds are somewhat unique in that they have all four lamps on when the high beams are in use - the outer lamps have both a low beam and a high beam filament while the inner lamps are high beam only. If three out of four lamps light (just not the right side high beam lamp) then I would say that the bulb is the problem.
All of this is assuming that the lighting system is unmodified. If you've done some sort of LED or HID conversion then all bets are off and there's a different set of diagnostic steps needed. If all this basic troubleshooting doesn't lead to an answer, and you have the time and electrical equipment to do further testing, we can get into more detailed diagnostics later.
