Please help... MTX Thunderform I have searched and read stickys for hours and cannot find my specific question..I bought a MTX Thunderform (suposed to be revised) sub unit with built in amp. It teels me to tap into the pillar speakers (which are subs) in my 2000 Camaro SS with the 500 watt monsoon. This makes me wonder since the instructions are generic and include T/A's. Are not the subs 2 ohm in the pillars? It is looking for a high level left and right input + and -. It seems to make more sense tapping into the rear hatch speakers that are 4 ohm since the unit has a built in crossover. Anyone share this experience? Thanks in advance.
The sail panel speakers are low passed already. The hatch speakers may be high passed and that will not work with the sub needing low freq's. I never cared for the idea of splicing in the speaker following the Monsoon Amp. This amp contains a lot for distorsion and then, you will be feeding that into another amp. This will not be good for the MTX Sub. What I would do, at a minimum, is get a PAC OEM-1 Converter and then, run RCA cables to the sub for the HU.
