1998 firebird lights stay on
as soon as I plug in the battery, all the lights go on and the interior chime starts beeping. I remove entire light switch and the issue still persist. What else can cause all lights to stay on? Headlights are the only thing that are not on but they don’t go up or down
Try unplugging the TAIL LPS fuse (#5) and see if the problem persists. If it's still there then try the PWR ACCY fuse (#7). The PWR ACCY fuse powers the theft deterrent relay which flashes the parking lights based on the factory alarm system (if equipped). The relay could be stuck causing constant power to the lights. Otherwise, there could be a short or the light circuit could have been modified for something like an aftermarket alarm system.
If unplugging the TAIL LPS fuse stops the lights then try putting the fuse back and unplugging the DRL module behind the radio. It's possible that there's a stuck parking light relay inside the DRL module that is causing the lights to stay on.
