Remote start not working
Second, check under the hood for an installed pin switch. If it's present (again, included but up to the installer), they are generally placed along the radiator core support or on one of the fenders. It's a plastic pin spring loaded in a metal casing which grounds the contact when it's extended, closing the hood pushes it down and enables remote starting through the open contact. Over time most all will fail, the plastic becomes brittle and the repeated contact pressure with the hood opening and closing eventually snaps them off. If the plastic pin head breaks off, the system thinks the hood is open and disables remote starting capability indefinitely. If this is the case, the quickest fix is to unplug the wire attached to the bottom of the pin. This will stop the wire from being grounded, allowing the remote start to function. They're cheap and easy to replace if you want to keep the safety feature intact.
There is also a diagnostic indicator that tells what caused the car not to start, but these two problems are generally the most common if no cranking attempt is made when you try to remote start it. If neither of these help, the diagnostics would be the next step.
