Default Running lights to dim.

I finally got all my lights working properly and noticed my DRL seemed a little dim but thought changing over to LED would fix it. After doing the swap they're still really dim. Turn signals and everything work properly. I did have to leave one of the wires disconnected to get both to work properly but even switching everything around I still couldn't get them to be any brighter. Any ideas would be helpful.

There are three wires at each front socket... black for ground, brown for running lights when the headlights are on, and blue for turn signal and DRL. The running lights are only active with the headlights on and use the dim filament of the dual filament bulb. The turn signals and DRLs use the bright filament of the bulb. Since they use the same filament, if your DRLs are too dim then your turn signals are also too dim. If you had to leave a wire disconnected then you've got them wired wrong. It sounds like you have the dim filament (original brown wire) of the socket connected to the blue wire in the vehicle harness. That would appear to work except that DRLs and signals would be dim.

Ok thanks, I'll check that out. I wanna say I couldn't get it to work correctly with all three wired in but hopefully this will fix it without any other problems. I hate trying to track down wires. Lol

Are you using the factory DRL module? If not, then you have nothing controlling the switching of the bright filament between DRL and T/S. The factory wiring used all three wires on each side, so if you can't get it to work that way, don't eliminate a wire - look for why it's not working as it's supposed to.

Finally got a chance to check it out properly. Funny enough I think the only thing that wouldn't let it work right with all three wire was having the bulb backwards. Lol another reason I hate tracking wires down. 😆 Thanks for the help though.
