Hatch release
Hatch release won't work. Have spare buttons and actuator assemblies and both have been tested on another car. Swapping them in did NOTHING.
When the button is hit there is no sound out all. Now obviously that leads me to believe there is a wiring problem.
Looking for someone to help me out on what wires are what attached to the hatch mechanism. There are two plugs and I believe each plug is 2 wires. Tryinf to figure out what wires do what exactly.
The hatch release relay is mounted to the same bracket as the big connector that goes through the firewall under the left side of the dash. It has a brown wire which gets powered by the BCM when it detects that the release button has been pressed. That energizes the coil side of the relay and goes to ground through a black wire. The switch side of the relay gets power from the PWR ACCY fuse through an orange wire and outputs power to the actuator through the previously mentioned black/white wire.
You'll want to start your diagnostics at the actuator... a basic test light is the tool of choice here since there's no electronic circuits and we just need to find power and ground. Check that the black/white wire gets power when the release switch is pressed and that there's a solid ground on the black wire. If both the power and ground check out then the problem is the actuator itself. If power but no ground then fix the ground G400 which is attached to the actuator bracket. If no power, move up to testing at the relay.
Check for power on the orange wire at the relay. If no power, replace the PWR ACCY fuse and try again. If power, check for power output on the black/white wire when the release switch is pressed. If no power then replace the relay.
Check for power on the brown wire at the relay when the switch is pressed. If power then check for a solid ground on the black wire and repair as necessary. If no power then you have a break in the wire from the BCM, a faulty switch, a break in the wire from the switch to the BCM, or a problem with the BCM itself. The switch has a black/white wire input and a black output to ground. You can test there by grounding the black/white wire. If the release works then either the switch itself or its ground through the black wire are the problem.

What else could be the reason for BCM not sending power to hatch relay?
