Program mode seems to not take.
I searched the forum but couldn't find a similar issue. I'm trying to turn off the horn on lock. 2002 Trans Am. Followed the instruction in the owners manual to the "T". Chose option 4 (lights only) but after putting back the fuse, the car still sounds the horn on lock. Have been through the procedure in the owners manual 4 times but still the horn sounds on lock. Now when I go in program mode it makes 4 chimes showing It thinks it is in lights only mode. Before it made one or two (I forget which) that were factory mode.
What am I doing wrong? I must be missing something because the PCM makes the chime for the option I chose, but the option does not work. Grrrrrr. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark.
I have been following the instructions in the owners manual to change the lock settings. Factory default is to flash lights and sound horn. I changed it to option 4, which is just lights. But the change does not seem to work, even though when going back into program mode it makes 4 chimes signifying that option 4 is in effect. Yet the horn still sounds when the doors are locked.
Any help is appreciated.

Mark.
