Brake light issue

Brake light issue Hey everyone! I'm just gonna jump right into it. I have a 98 z28 I use as a daily. This morning, I started it up to warm up and noticed my 3rd brake light was on. After work, I investigated further and found that:
1. Any time I give power either by turning left ****, turning key on or even starting the car, all my brake lights come on and stay on
2. With no power, I can hit the pedal and brake lights come off and on as expected
3. When there is no power and i hit brake pedal, my car chimes
4. My cruise control does not work and it did tuesday
5. I bought a brake light switch and changed it (down at the pedal, white pc that threads in and has 2 plugs to it)
The problem still exists. Is this a wire issue? Maybe a hazard switch problem? Parking brake switch issue? Fuses are ok (obviously but i want to provide as much info as i can). Just trying to rattle it around in my pumpkin

Is the "Brake" light lit in the Gauge Cluster even with the e-brake disengaged? Check brake fluid level too. Check the bulbs in the 3rd brake light (CHMSL). If the bulbs there are out or sometimes replaced with LEDs, that sometimes also disables cruise control.

'Brake' light in cluster is not on. Fluid level is fine. I do have 2 LED bulbs but have had them installed for quite a while now (id say well over a year). After work, ill replace led bulbs and go from there, thanks

Just wanted to say we figured it out. It ended up just being one of the brake light sockets. Didnt have to chase down a wire or anything (and ill just keep the old brake light switch and leave new installed)
