Default New BCM Question

Hey fellas, as stated in a previous post my 02 Firebird needs a new/used BCM. I have one but don't have the key to it. My question is, if I have the starter and fuel security functions bypassed (grounded starter wire at BCM, have a module for fuel cutoff) do I need to wire in a resistor for the key pellet? I'm aware if I didn't I'd presumably get a security light but if it's not doing anything is it a problem? Would it set the alarm off?

The security light will be on all the time. It flashes when VATS can't see a resistor whereas it stays on solidly when it sees a resistor that's not the correct value. It should not set off the alarm.
