How to wire up power antenia?

Question How to wire up power antenia?

Ok so i bought a power antenia for a 2000 camaro ss and i dont like how high it goes up to so i was wondering if anyone knows how to make it stop were i want it to?

how did you hook the antenia up im trying to hook one up myself

You can't control it electrically - it is either all the way up or all the way down. I suppose you might be able take it apart and modify the mast or motor so it doesn't go all the way up.

It takes three wires - switched power, constant power, and ground. The constant (battery) power is what actually powers the motor. It has to be constant so that the antenna will retract after shutting off the ignition. The switched power comes from a wire in the radio harness that is live when the radio is on. Camaros don't have this wire so you'll have to run your own. Run your wire from pin 8 of the black connector on the radio (where the pink wire is located on Firebirds) to the antenna.
