Guages pegging out
Since the door was replaced, I assume the battery was disconnected. The day after I picked her up I filled up the tank and drove over 150 miles home. 10min later, I went to put her in the garage and the battery was DEAD! It showed 9 volts and could not be jump started. I figured that was causing the gauges to peg.
I replaced the battery yesterday but the gauges still peg and the trip odometer still resets on start up.
HELP!
IF the pass. door is opened at any point, everything then works fine, the alarm arms, etc. Once the alarm is armed, when disarmed, the gauges do not peg and the trip odometer does not reset!
Cause: when the body shop replaced the door (my ins. co made them get a used one, $300 vs a new one and a new skin @ $700 + $250) they used the latch assby. that came with the door NOT the one from my car. The electronics tech said the used latch probably has a short and would cause all the problems listed and a whole bunch I didn't.
FWIW, I fought the ins. co. on the used door and they said "If it is not 'cherry' we'll get a new door."
The door was 'cherry'!
Thanks again guys
