Installing/Hardwiring Valentine 1 Hey,
I was wondering if somone could sned me a picture/link of a switeched wire i could use to hardwire my Valentine 1 in place. I think that the V1 comes with a clip that punches the wire and then has an electrical connector that plugs into it.
I dont want to punch the wrong wire and end up having the thing on all the time.

I don't see why not, as long as it's a switched on source. I know in my truck, I just plug the wire into a switched on fuse socket that is already being used. In my car, I wired up an aux fuse box. With all my nitrous stuff I was sick of having to tap into existing wires. So I just run them all the my aux fuse box and pop in the proper fuse I need and I have power. Makes things a lot easier.

There are three spots on the fuse box that are designed for installing aftermarket electrical accessories. They are labeled BATT, IGN and ACCY. The BATT connector is hot at all times, the IGN connector is hot when the ignition is on, and the ACCY connector is hot when the ignition is on or in the accessory position as well as while the retained accessory power is active (after shutting off the car but before opening a door). It's easy to run a wire from there either behind the dash or up the left "A" pillar to the headliner.
where is the best place to moutn the v1? i was looking at my car the other day, and i wanted to find the optimal place to mount it where it is kind of conceiled.... i dont want smokey to see it in my window and say, "I'm pullin this guy over because hes got a detector."

Any one of the bolts that hold the metal dash parts to the body or those that are on the steering column brackets. Factory ground bolts are located behind the left kick panel and on the transmission tunnel behind the A/C controls in the center console.
