Red Security Light I need to know the easiest way to get to the wires of the red security light on the dash. If there is any easy way to get to them without having to totally take the dash apart, that would be awesome.
I want to make the red LED flash with my new LED that came with my Viper alarm, so I need to be able to get to those wires...

To get to the wires you will have to lift the top dash panel (the one with the defroster vent). You will have to remove the A pillar trim on both sides of the windshield - take off the T-tops and remove the two screws at holding the top of each trim panel then pull out the trim. Then you can just pry up the dash panel - it is held in place with push-in clips and velcro strips. Be careful because the edges are somewhat unfinished and are VERY sharp (don't ask me how I know).
The red security LED is twist-locked into the opening in the dash (along with the automatic headlight sensor on Camaros and Canadian Firebirds). It has two wires - dark green and black. The dark green is positive and the black is ground. You can cut the wires and splice in the LED output from the alarm system to give it a factory-installed look. I did that with my DEI alarm system and it works great.

You can remove the radio bezel and the radio and locate the parking lamp relay which is located in the top right corner of the opening. Then when you locate the relay, trace the wires back to the loom, the wires for the led and light sensor come out of that loom and go up thru the dash, I found it slightly easier to work with the wires that way.
