Got a quick question?
I have a 99 Z28 that had the factory tape player in it. I bought an aftermarket cd player (JVC) well im tired of all the colors & etc. I want a factory clean look. My buddy has a 2001 hd with the factory cd player in it. He wants to trade. I know his cd player would plug up to my harness but would it work in my car. Those cd players have the theft lock on it. Thats my main concern. Anyone know the anwser to this?

What is a "2001 hd" - Harley Davidson? Heavy Duty?
Assuming it is a 2001 Camaro, the CD head unit will plug right in and work fine. If your friend has activated the TheftLock, just have him disable it before removing the unit from his car (check owners manual). If not, then no problem. The TheftLock is internal to the radio and isn't affected by what car it's installed in.

The 2001 truck radio should fit and plug right in to your Camaro. Since it's your buddy, why not invite him over and try it before doing anything permanent. It should only take 15 minutes to do the swap and then you'll be sure that everything works.

The radio in the HD is held in by two quick release clips that are attached on the lower corners. The factory radio for your camaro has two tabs made into the sides of the radio that locate the deck and hold it to the dash with two seven milimeter screws. Electrically it will work but it is going to take some patience to get it in your car. I thought I was the only person on earth that hated these gay *** colors of a lot of the new radios out. Silver decks and flashy graphics equals ricer not camaro's. I feel your pain though.

Well, the brackets would be all that you would need. The question is are there holes on the side of the truck radio that you can attach the brackets to? I would expect that there are but you won't know for sure until you pull it out and look.
